Who feeds wild birds? How does it impact birds and people? Dr. Dayer
will describe how the social sciences are advancing the understanding of human
dimensions of bird conservation with a focus on bird feeding. She will shed new
light on how people in the US feed birds, what motivates this behavior, and
what actions they take to manage predators and disease at feeders. She will
address how these interactions between birds and the people who feed them may
impact human well-being and bird populations. She will close by sharing
resources for responsible bird-feeding.
