It looks like something out of a movie but Virginia Tech researchers demonstrate how magical powers inspired by popular culture can happen in virtual reality.  Doug A. Bowman, the Frank J. Maher Professor of Computer Science and Director of the Center for Human-Computer Interaction (CHCI) and Run Yu, graduate research assistant in CHCI develop a gesture-based interaction technique to drive physics-based movement of an object.
