This video is part of the Coastal and Estuarine Ecology and Management basic training curriculum for the Virginia Master Naturalist program. It is an interview with Karen Duhring from the Virginia Institute of Marine Science Center for Coastal Resources Management. She describes what living shorelines are, when they can be used to reduce erosion, and some of their basic features. Karen is a member of the VMN Steering and Executive Committees. We interviewed her at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science's teaching marsh in Gloucester Point, VA in August 2015.
