The legalization of hemp and marijuana is fueling the emergence of the CBD industry, ultimately leading to the production of the large quantities of extracted Cannabis flower waste. A faculty and student research team from the Department of Sustainable Biomaterials is working to determine if this waste could be an inexpensive source of pectins as additives in the adhesives used to manufacture composite lumber products.
