Virginia Master Naturalist Continuing Education Webinar, presented by Adam Downing (VCE) and Alfred Goossens (VMN-Old Rag Chapter). Members of the Old Rag Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalist program launched The Socrates Project to provide educational information about poisonous plants in Virginia. They developed a guide to many of the poisonous plants found in Central Virginia that has now been published as a Virginia Cooperative Extension publication. They are also conducting talks on this topic for community groups. In the next phase of the project, they hope to involve VMN volunteers from other chapters in expanding the scope beyond Central Virginia. This webinar unveils this newly published resource and educates participants about common poisonous plants we have in Virginia and the risks associated with them.
