VMN CE Webinar: Citizen Science with GLOBE
From Michelle Prysby
Description: Become a part of a world-wide community of citizen scientists, NASA researchers, schools, and communities contributing environmental science data to the GLOBE program. GLOBE Clouds Principal Investigator, Jessica Taylor, will share about the GLOBE Observer app that can be easily downloaded so you can share your observations from the field.
Presenter: Jessica Taylor, Physical Scientist, NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA
Jessica Taylor grew up in Florida where her love of thunderstorms led to her to pursue a career in atmospheric science. Jessica is the lead of the Science Education Team at NASA Langley Research Center. Jessica's participation in GLOBE began in 2001 as a student at Florida State University where she took regular atmosphere measurements and trained teachers. Now at NASA, Jessica is the Principal Investigator for GLOBE Clouds. Her team engages students and citizen scientists internationally in science that is relevant to NASA. In 2020, more than 270k observations of clouds and sky conditions were documented and submitted to GLOBE’s worldwide database.
